تشغيل نطاق Google في لبنان
يسرنا أن نعلن لكم اليوم عن تشغيل نطاق Google في لبنان وهو النطاق المائة والسبعين الذي تطلقه الشركة محليًا والحادي عشر في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا (بعد مصر، السعودية، الإمارات العربية، البحرين، الكويت، قطر، عمان، الأردن، المغرب، الجزائر، ليبيا). وربما يتساءل البعض عن سر إنشاء كل هذه النطاقات المحلية؟
إننا نعمل منذ سنوات على إنشاء النطاقات المحلية لصفحات Google الرئيسة في مختلف دول العالم، وتعد تلك النطاقات الخطوة الأولى لتقديم خدمة محلية أكثر ارتباطاً بالنكهة المحلية الوطنية لمستخدمي Google. فعندما يدخل المستخدم إلى النطاق المحلي لموقع Google نستطيع أن نحدد ماهو المحتوى المرتبط بمكانه والذي يرغب في أن يشاهده ويبحث فيه، وهكذا يحصل على نتائج بحث أكثر قرباً منه خاصة عندنا يبحث عن معلومات تتعلق بعنوان أو حدث محلي. كما يمكن للمستخدم حصر نتائج البحث بالصفحات المتوفرة في النطاق المحلي الذي يخصه.
فحتى فترة قريبة كان على المستخدم اللبناني الذي يتحدث العربية أن يدخل إلى النطاق المصري للحصول على واجهة مستخدم عربية. أما الآن فيمكن لجميع المستخدمين في لبنان الدخول مباشرة إلى صفحة: google.com.lb للحصول على إمكانية البحث العربية المحلية، مع خيار للحصول على المحتوى المحلي المتوفر بلغات أخرى هي الفرنسية والإنجليزية والأرمينية.
إنها خطوات صغيرة أخرى لتطوير تجربة استخدام محلية أشد روعة للمستخدمين في كل أنحاء العالم.

Lebanon Domain Launch
We recently rolled out our latest Google domain for Lebanon bringing the total number of Google domains worldwide to over 170 with 11 domains in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) (Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar,Jordan, Morocco, Algeria and Libya). For some people this begs the questions, "why so many domains?".
Glad you asked. For some time we've been working to provide Google homepages to as many of the world's recognized top-level domains as possible. Domains are a first step for Google to provide a more relevant and local experience for our users. When users access Google from their local domain, we are better able to understand what kind of location related content users want to see. Users can also restrict the Search to the local country pages as an option.
Up until recently, Arabic-speaking users in Lebanon have had to visit foreign domains (e.g. google.com.eg in Egypt) in order to search in Arabic. Going forward, Lebanese users will be able to access google.com.lb for their local Arabic search, with an option to access their local search in French, English and Armenian. These are small steps towards fostering a greater local web experience for our users around the world.
