يعتمد معظمنا على البريد الإلكتروني للتواصل مع العائلة والأصدقاء والزملاء، كل ما تحتاج إليه هو أن تعرف عنوان البريد الإلكتروني الذي ستراسله، ثم كتابة هذا العنوان والنقر على "إرسال" – هل يوجد ما هو أبسط من هذا؟ ولكن هناك نسبة قليلة من المستخدمين قد تواجه بعض الصعوبة في كتابة نص باللغة المحلية لعدم توفر لوحة مفاتيح بهذه اللغة. لهذا فقد أطلقنا Google تعريب من أجل معالجة هذه المشكلة في الإدخال: فهي تتيح لكم الكتابة اللفظية باستخدام الأحرف الإنجليزية. فقط قم بكتابة الكلمة كما تسمعها وسنقوم بتحويلها تلقائيا إلى لغتك. على سبيل المثال إذا قام مستخدم عربي بكتابة كلمة مثل "marhaban" فسنقوم بقلبها عن طريق خاصية تعريب لتصبح "مرحبا". وبالمثل فإن كلمة مثل "shokran" ستصبح "شكرا".
يسعدنا أن نعلن أنه بإمكانكم الآن أن تستخدموا بريد Gmail لكتابة رسائل إلكترونية بسهولة وبثلاثة عشر لغة هي: العربية، البنغالية، الغوجاراتية، الهندية، الكانادا، المالايالامية، المهاراتية، النيبالية، والفارسية، والبنجابية، التاميلية، التيلوجو، والأوردية (في وقت سابق من هذا العام قمنا بإطلاق دعم خدمة التعريب لخمس لغات، ثم أضفنا الآن ثماني لغات أخرى).

Using Google Transliteration in Gmail
Most of us rely on email to communicate with family, friends and colleagues. You just need to provide an email address, type out the email and hit "Send" - what could be simpler? Well, if you prefer to communicate in an Arabic language rather than in English, it can actually be fairly difficult to compose an email in your local script. We launched Google Transliteration to address this input problem: it enables phonetic typing using English letters. Just type the way a word sounds, and we will convert it into your script. For example, if an Arabic speaker types "marhaban" we will transliterate this to "مرحبا." Similarly, "shokran" in will become "شكرا."
We are very pleased to announce that you can now use GMail to easily compose email in thirteen languages: Arabic, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Nepali, Persian, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu (earlier this year we had launched transliteration support for five languages; we have now added another eight languages).
Users in Arabic countries should see the Transliteration button in the compose window toolbar. If you do not see this button, you will need to enable transliteration by going to the Settings page and enabling this option in the "Languages" section. Once you see the button, you can click on it to enable transliteration and click it again to turn off transliteration. To select a different language, click on the drop-down arrow next to the transliteration button and select your preferred language.
